A. Glade Dyess Sales Co. was founded in January 1979 by A. Glade Dyess in Jackson, Mississippi. After years working with industrial distributors, Glade built a reputation for keeping his word and developing genuine relationships with his customers.

That philosophy became the foundation of the company—and it remains at the heart of the business today.

Leadership Team

Tip Dyess

Tip grew up immersed in the family business, frequently accompanying his father on customer visits during school breaks. After obtaining his driver’s license, he began supporting operations by delivering parts and equipment. While attending Mississippi College, he remained actively involved in the business, ultimately joining the company full-time following his graduation in May 1990.

In the mid-1990s, Tip expanded his professional experience by founding both a real estate company and a construction firm. During this time, he continued to support the family business on major projects, including traveling to job sites as needed. He maintained an ongoing advisory and support role until 2015, when he became more actively involved in daily operations, culminating in his full leadership of the company in 2020.

Lexie McPeek

Lexie gained experience assisting with her father’s construction company while also supporting various administrative functions during her education. She went on to build a strong administrative background working with law offices and in the pharmaceutical industry. She later joined her father and sister in the family business, where she contributes to daily operations and administrative support.

Jordan Dyess

Jordan gained early hands-on experience by assisting with her father’s construction company while still in school. After completing her education, she went on to work for a national big-box retailer, followed by a role with a large manufacturing firm. In 2025, she joined the family business, where she now plays a key role in overseeing and supporting outside sales operations.

Brooke Jurney

Like her sisters, Brooke grew up on jobsites and helping where needed. After finishing school, she worked in an eye doctor’s office as well as several animal care facilities. She is focused on the marketing and social media portion of the business.

History Timeline

1979

A. Glade Dyess Sales Co. was started in January 1979 by A. Glade Dyess in Jackson, MS.  Prior to this he had worked with several industrial distributors like Stewart-Warner and Harper Industrial Supply.  He had developed a reputation as someone who backed up his promises and was out to develop real relationships with his customers and not just as an order taker. 

The First Truck

He bought his first new pickup, a 1979 Chevrolet standard cab, so that he could deliver many of the products he sold to his customers.  In the very beginning the kitchen table at home was his desk until he set up in a rental property that he owned.  For the first several years this was the office until he decided to rent some office space with a warehouse.

Early Business

He called on poultry processors, rendering plants, chemical plants, poultry and catfish feed mills and sand and gravel companies. The focus by this time was selling screw conveyors, drag conveyors, belt conveyors and bucket elevators along with their ancillary products.  The goal from the very beginning was to sell quality equipment from those manufacturers that provided the very best equipment and to deliver when and what was promised. 

Today

Many of the companies that were customers and are still customers were started as family operated and owned just as A. Glade Dyess Sales Co. 

Today, A. Glade Dyess Sales Co. is owned and operated by Tip Dyess, Lexie McPeek, Jordan Dyess, and Brooke Jurney.
